Putting Our Money Where Our Mouth Is: How Signature Coins Does Employee Appreciation

Posted by Adrian Alexander | Wednesday July 24th, 2019 | Topic: Company

We’re Not Just About Telling Other Companies to Appreciate Their Employees

We post a number of blogs about employee appreciation programs. Whether it’s talking about why your company needs one, or information about starting a new one, employee appreciation is a topic we take very seriously here at Signature Coins. And it’s not just because our products lend themselves so completely to these programs: It’s because we truly believe that healthy and happy employees are the ticket to a successful business.

If you require any further proof of our dedication to employee appreciation, we wanted to give you an inside look at a couple of the ways we say thank you to our Signature Coins team. It’s not enough to just sit back and write about employee appreciation; you also have to be willing to practice what you preach whenever possible.

Company-Wide (And Company Paid For) Lunches

Company lunches are a staple in the business world. Because lunch is something your employees are engaging in on their own anyway, it only makes sense to work it into employee appreciation. Taking the pressure and the expense off of employees to decide on where to go and what to do for one lunch is actually a much more meaningful gesture than a lot of people give it credit for being. Also, if you’ve got a company-wide wellness program, then organizing and funding lunch is a quick and easy way to spend a day making sure all of your employees eat healthy.

Here at Signature Coins, one of the ways we show appreciation to our employees is through company-wide lunches. The lunches themselves are often organized around a theme or at least a food type, and they’re provided by the company.

For one very special cookout, we put the leaders of one team to work and had them grill burgers, sausages and steaks for everyone in the company. They were also responsible for providing the sides that went along with the meal. Prior to the date in question, each employee was sent a form to fill out requesting their preferred cut of meat (or if they’d rather the veggie option) and how well they’d like it cooked (rare to well done). Once all of the orders were in, our team went to work making it happen. But the festivities don’t stop there.

Company Swag

A well cooked lunch is one thing, but what’s a company appreciation program without a little company swag to go along with it? As a company that creates custom promotional material, it would be a little disingenuous if we didn’t make sure to give such things to our own employees from time to time

For each lunch event, we have a custom lapel pin made and distributed to everyone. For the cookout in question, one team was responsible for hosting the lunch. Each of the employees on that team was featured in the design of the pin and given some different kind of science fiction or fantasy look. It was a lot of fun for those of us included to see ourselves as Klingons, unicorns and vikings.

Each employee from the time they are hired with us receives a lanyard. For most, this is where the accumulated pins from the cookouts go. The lanyards then serve as a marker of how long an employee has been with us. For the company grill out event, though, we didn’t stop at pins. Custom shirts were also made and distributed to the team. The entire event came together as one great moment of unity, morale boosting and team building for the entire company.

At Signature Coins, we try to keep the work environment light and fun while still making sure we can get projects done. It’s led to a very laid back, but also a very driven office. And the fact that we’re capable of using our products in the manner they’re intended is just icing on the cake. Offering a free lunch and great swag is just the tip of the iceberg, though. What other ways do you go about showing appreciation to your employees?
