On his personal Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages, Severance offered to award a free coin to a random person who helped share and retweet his coin with their friends. Severance was able to get well over the 500 retweets he asked for. During the conference this week, he will be handing out his remaining coins to other police chiefs and law enforcement officials during the training courses and networking events at the conference. One of the most important parts of the conference is the networking opportunities with police chiefs from all over the state of Texas. Making a lasting impression on peers working in different offices is important for future interdepartmental cases and for building strong relationships with law enforcement officials outside of one’s own office.
