FBI Honors Internship Program Challenge Coins

The Future of the FBI

When accepted into the FBI’s Honors Internship Program, FBI hopefuls get 10 weeks of experience working for the Bureau. Undergraduate and graduate students from all across the Nation are encouraged to apply if they have an interest in joining the fight to protect and defend the United States.

The internship gives participants a chance to get their foot in the door of the FBI, and the experience can evolve into a colorful career. Mentorship plays a crucial role in the program as interns work closely with real-life members of the bureau every day. When we were contacted about creating a special coin for the program, we got excited for the opportunity to craft something special for the FBI interns that would serve as an introduction to the culture of the organization.

Federal Bureau of Investigation

Challenge coins foster a climate of trust, appreciation and shared vision. For the FBI interns receiving them, each coin is a symbol of merit and personal success. Our art team worked hard to make sure the custom design was a worthy symbol of the initiative and commitment shown by every intern in the program.

What Does it Take to Create Custom Coins?

All it takes is a little inspiration. Working with Signature Coins is an easy and fun experience that only requires a few ideas for our designers to get started.

Not only were we asked to make a set of coins for FBI interns, we were also tasked with creating a single NYPD coin. The contact on the project sent us pictures of the emblems that needed to be included in the design. Our art team went through a few iterations, but the final product is exactly what contact had in mind. We even color-matched an NYPD uniform shirt to get the perfect shade of grey to fill in the police academy logo on the back side of the coin.

The minimum order of coins is a set of 50, however, our sales team worked tirelessly to get this single NYPD coin struck for this order. It needed to be delivered with the FBI internship coins, so time was of the essence. After the design was finalized, we had to machine a separate mold, which made the price for a single coin steep but well worth it.

We care about what we do, and it shows. The design process is precise and careful. We don’t want any of our clients worrying about incurring charges for artwork or design revisions, so we gladly offer free artwork and as many revisions as you need to get everything just right.

The FBI coins and the single NYPD coin went through several revisions before they were ready for production. We encourage open communication and are prompt with responses to make the process as easy as possible on our customers. Just send us your ideas, and we will take care of the rest!

Setting the Standard for Customer Service

Our process is designed to make your experience easy and enjoyable, and our sales team will work with you every step of the way.

The contact for this project was on a tight deadline and asked if we could rush the order. The coins were scheduled to arrive just in time but still needed to travel through the FBI’s interoffice mail before they could reach their destination. Overnight shipping is included with every order, so our team started looking for ways to make the process even quicker.

Our sales team was in constant communication with our production facility, stressing the importance of finishing the coins as soon as possible. Through their combined efforts, the FBI coins and the single NYPD coin were delivered a full four days earlier than projected. This gave the contact plenty of time to inspect the coins and prepare them for the ceremony.

We're in the business of creating small pieces of history. These FBI internship coins are a physical token of initiative and hard work, and awarding them to fresh interns is like passing the torch to the future generation of the organization. Our entire team was thrilled to be a part of the experience!
