10K races provide an excellent workout and prime conditioning for longer marathons. They’re fun, can be great family-friendly social events, and they provide participants with a strong sense of pride and accomplishment when completed. Though shorter than their half marathon and full marathon counterparts, a lot of work and conditioning still goes into preparing to run a 10K. As you’re going through the steps of organizing your 10K and getting runners to sign up, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the best 10K race medals to commemorate this great achievement for your participants. Luckily for you, Signature Coins has you covered with our custom race medals.

At Signature Coins, we’ve got over 15 years of quality service under our belts. We’ve created custom challenge coins for military branches, Fortune 500 companies and special interest groups, and we’ve created custom sports medals for football leagues, hockey leagues and 10K, 25K and longer marathon races. With that much experience, you can be sure Signature Coins is ready to go the distance in providing for your specific sports medal needs.

Organizing a 10K Race

As people continue to prepare and condition for road races, a lot of attention is paid to how much work goes into a runner getting their body prepared for the race. However, not even the runners tend to think about how much work goes into getting the race ready to be run to begin with.

Race organizers have a lot of choices to make and a lot of hard work to do in the months leading up to the big event. Sponsors have to be contacted and convinced to offer their support on the big day. A race route has to be chosen, approved by the city, and first response personnel have to be put on standby for the day of the run. Volunteers to work the race have to be found and engaged in their tasks. Water, lots and lots of water, has to be procured and staged around the race route. And those activities don’t even take into consideration the large amounts of products that need to be ordered and designed.

With so much attention being paid to the legal and health-based requirements of the race, it’s easy for something like race medals to fall through the cracks. But if your runners put in all of the hard work of getting ready to run, how will they feel when they reach the finish line and there’s nothing there to honor their hard work and monumental accomplishment? To avoid that situation, let Signature Coins employ our simple three-step order process to get your custom 10K race medals in your hands in record time.

Our team of specialists and artists are here to help you every step of the way to ensure that the design of your unique medals is one less thing for you to agonize over in the months leading up to the race. Simply fill out one of the forms on this page and our artists will get back to you in 24 - 48 hours with your first free art proof and quote.

Some Popular U.S. 10K Races

One thing you’ve got to decide on is the general basis for your race. There are a lot of races and marathons out there being run for a number of different reasons. Is your race a fun run, or is it for a charity, or will it mark a special holiday or commemorate some other kind of event? Will your race have a theme of some sort? It can all seem daunting when in the planning stages, but it’s easier if you remember that every 10K that exists today started out in exactly the same way, and only over time did they become the large affairs we’re used to.

Some popular 10Ks across the country include:

  • BolderBOULDER-- Taking place in Boulder, CO on Memorial Day, BolderBOULDER began in 1979 with only 2,700 participants. Since then, it has grown into an annual staple for the Boulder community and regularly attracts over 50,000 runners.
  • The Cooper River Bridge Run-- With a location like the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge spanning the Cooper river in South Carolina, the Cooper River Bridge Run is a hard 10K to beat in terms of scenery. It started in 1978 with only slightly more than 1,000 runners.
  • Crescent City Classic-- Over 20,000 people gather annually in New Orleans to participate in the Crescent City Classic. It’s a significant increase from the 902 participants in the first run.
  • Statesman Capitol 10K-- Founded in Austin, TX, the Statesman Capitol 10K had a slightly more auspicious debut with 3,400 initial participants. Of course that number is dwarfed by the over 20,000 runners they currently attract each year.
  • AJC Peachtree Road Race-- With 150 runners, the AJC Peachtree Road Race kicked off its 4th of July tradition in Atlanta. It has since become the largest road race in the country, often attracting between 50,000 and 60,000 participants.
