Challenge Coins With Removable Golf Ball Markers

Changing the Challenge Coin Game

If you’re familiar with the game of golf, then you’ve probably seen a few different types of golf ball markers. Out on the greens, you’re likely going to see them clipped to the brims of hats, attached to divot tools and even magnetically attached to the straps of golf gloves. Tournament sponsors, country clubs and groups of friends contact vendors and have custom ball markers made with or without magnetic backings in varying degrees of quality, but what people don’t see too often is a custom challenge coin with a ball marker insert.

Challenge coins have the potential to be showstoppers on their own merit when presented at the right time and place, and including something like a ball marker insert can take a design to the next level. We have worked with charities like Heroes in the Rough, big businesses and even small groups of friends to make custom ball marker coins that are meant for so much more than just golf. Check out a few of the custom golf ball marker challenge coins we have made and see how you can take full advantage of the design potential of these types of coins.

One Coin With Two Separate Designs

A lot of our customers say that the most fun part about creating a custom challenge coin is coming up with the design. What makes working on golf ball marker coins so much fun is that they require two parts, so it’s like working on two coins at once. This gives you more room to play around with different ideas and options for your design. All golf ball marker coins require a magnetic insert, and the most common ball marker coins we create look something like this.

These types of coins look like traditional challenge coins until you slide the ball marker out of the center cutout. All you need to do is press down on one side of the marker with your thumb, and it will pop up and slide out easily.

These Strategic Planning Group ball marker coins were created specifically for Ryan Craner. He uses them as something like a souvenir or calling card with associates, clients and friends. His contact information is included on both the smaller marker coin and on the larger coin making it something like a business card coin.

Creating custom golf ball marker coins as substitute business cards or as souvenirs for business associates is awesome, but so is creating a special coin for a group of friends just playing golf. No matter the style, challenge coins are made to celebrate the unique personalities that make up a group of people. Sometimes they have hidden secrets or inside jokes mixed into the design, but in every case, custom ball markers are a meaningful gift to share.

These custom golf ball marker coins, for example, were ordered for a group of friends that get together every year for a weekend of golf. The Meetings is the name of their annual trip, and the trophy on the back of the coin is a recreation of the trophy the group has been awarding to one another since 2000. A fun aspect of the design is that the trophy itself is just a little off-kilter because the real-life trophy was dropped and damaged so that it doesn’t stand perfectly straight.

Adding Some Personality to Your Game

Before getting started on your own design, it’s important to remember that ball marker coins like these require two coin molds: one for the ball marker and one for the base coin. While this usually makes ball marker coins more expensive than your average challenge coin, it gives you room to make up to four different designs for the same coin. Flipping the ball marker over can change the entire look of one side of the coin, giving you plenty of room to add your own personal flair to the design.

Whether you need a ball marker coin for a special company event or just to celebrate a group of friends, we’ve got you covered. Our art team is happy to find ways of including company or team logos, inside jokes (like the bent trophy and motto “Tossing Limes, Winning at Life” on The Meetings coin) or any other kind of design you think will make the artwork more special. Just send us your ideas, and we will take care of the rest!
